Massive Thanks to the Hoots for playing at our wedding on the 3rd of September in the Garryvoe Hotel. I planned my wedding from abroad and just picked The Hoots from what I've seen on youtube. We had the most fabulous craic, everybody was up dancing all night, and they really kept the crowd going. Michelle's voice is absolutely beautiful and Karl was really nice and easy to deal with all the way. I highly recommend The Hoots, if you want a fantastic night. I must say now, I couldn't have imagined my night any better!!! Thanks a million guys :X

"We first heard the Hoots play in Courtneys in Killarney in 2012. We both really enjoyed their style and choice of covers. When we got engaged we were sure we wanted the Hoots. With the help of Courtneys we tracked them down on facebook. They replied very promptly and directed us to their (slick!) website for upcoming dates where we could hear them play and playlists.

We went along to see them at a pub in cork, they were exactly as we remembered, so we went ahead and booked. It was as easy as lodging a deposit. We mentioned that we would like a trad session as part of the entertainment. They were very accommodating of this and allowed our trad musicians to share their sound system. They also organised a DJ.

They were very accommodating of our first dance choice, and it really was as simple as that. Karl was a pleasure to deal with.

On the night they were just brilliant! They started with waltzes and got rockier as the night went on. They took a break and let the trad session take to the stage for an hour. And then returned and finished their set with gusto! And the DJ provided was really good, enthusiastically playing requests:)

I would highly recommend The Hoots for other weddings and parties:) "

I’d just like to say thank you to The Hoots. Last July I had the most wonderful day of my life and it was made all the better by having The Hoots as my wedding band. They got everyone up and dancing. Upbeat and fun songs which all ages could dance away the night to. With all our dealing before the big day The Hoots where the one thing I never had to worry about. Very professional and asked what we would like and they delivered!! No fuss set up, which is exactly what you want. I would definitely recommend The Hoots to anybody who wants a Great all-round band. We booked The Hoots band for our wedding on 31/12/13 in West Cork. Living overseas we had just seen their website and read their reviews online. We went ahead and booked them without seeing them live and they didn't dissapoint. Prior to the wedding they were so easy to contact via email/or phone and very quick to respond regardless of time differences. They were open to all song requests and happy to learn any songs we requested in advance.
On the night of the wedding they arrived and set up with no difficulties. The music was brilliant and they changed styles to suit the mixed crowd ensuring the dance floor was full at all times. They played a bit of everything and avoided all the cliche/cheesy wedding songs which we were glad of. They rang in the new year with us and were flexible with how long they played for to suit this. The band also supplied the DJ which was brilliant as we didnt have the hassle of finding a DJ as well. They kept the floor full for the disco part and played late into the night.
The Hoots were exactly what we wanted a relaxed band who kept the dance floor full and adaptable to the mixed crowd which is exactly what you need for a wedding. Thanks to The Hoots for a great New Year and Wedding.

A quick thank you to you all for a wonderful performance at our daughter Sam's Wedding at Nantenan on Saturday night. Everybody had a great time and an awful lot of the reason for it was the music you provided. You were great. We all had a ball and Michele has a fantastic voice. From the moment I heard you playing in a pub in Schull last year I tried to persuade Sam and Trent to try to get you. FAQ

Q: What do most guests remember about the wedding?
A: How gorgeous the Bride looked, the food & the Band. Yes! in that order.

Q: Do we need to pay a deposit?

A: Yes! This works best for all concerned, When that deposit is paid, you have piece of mind, your entertainment needs are done, band will do what the band do best, entertain!

Q: Will I also need to hire a DJ?
A: Most clients find that they need a DJ in addition to the band. For an additional charge, The Hoots can arrange for a DJ to set up independent from the band and play on til super late. All DJ's are hired from Ted Dunne Entertainments.

Q: My future wife and I both have left-feet and are very bad dancers. We'd like to get the first dance over and done with asap. Any suggestions?
A: We'd recommend an uptempo song - That way, you'll soon be joined on the dancefloor by your guests, thereby taking the spotlight off you and your terrible dancing!

Q: How much do you charge?
A: Unfortunately, it is really difficult to give an indication of our charges without knowing a bit more about your event. Various things can affect the cost of hiring a band including the date, the size and location of the venue, the length of time you want us to play and the equipment we will need to bring. Our priority is to give your guests the best possible experience and to work within your budget wherever possible. So please, contact us now and we will be happy to give you a quotation with no obligation and no hard sell.

Q: Do you take song requests?
A: The Hoots are only too happy to play a song on request, the only thing we ask for is enough notice (4 weeks).

Q:What does the band require on the day?
A: We need at least two 13amp power sockets for sole use by the band (i.e. not shared with kitchen/disco/lighting).

Q: Do we need to hire a raised stage?
A: No, a stage is always a great addition to a performance but is not a requirement.

Q. How long does the band need to set up and will you be set up before the guests arrive?
A. Generally speaking the band needs about 45-60 minutes to set up and sound check. Ideally this is done before the guests arrive or, as is the case at many weddings, when the room is being arranged for the evening reception. However, if you require the band to be set up before the event start this can be arranged as well.

Q: What time should the band start playing?
A: This is completely up to you and your schedule on the day. We find it's often best to start the band at around 9pm but this is purely a guide. We also find it's best to serve the buffet during the band breaks or before the band start.

Q: My Grandma/Auntie/elderly relative doesn't like loud music?
A: The Hoots play at an appropriate volume for the event. We use state of the art PA equipment to ensure that at any volume, our sound is not compromised. We believe the band should be comfortable to listen to, while at the same time still sound full, and as such have invested heavily in our sound equipment.
